Talk with the goldsmith Luisa del Valle
- October 20 at 7:00 p.m.
- Place: Auditori.
- Free entrance.
Goldsmith Luisa del Valle will hold a talk at the Auditori in the “Disseny i Innovació a les Illes Balears” program, coinciding with her exhibition “Observing our past”, in the showcase of the museum’s store from October 2 to 5 March.
Among other topics, the guest will talk about:
- The Etruscan techniques of 500 A.C.
- The magic jewels, amulets and talismans.
- The artistic jewels.
- Traditions in the jewelery of the Balearic Islands.
Her project consists of a tribute to several lost goldsmith traditions, such as those of the Romans of Pollentia or the Muslims of Alcúdia. The work with materials such as olive wood, a tree so present on the island of Mallorca, or pearls, treated from the tradition of braiding, in line with those made by different craftsmen in the town of Manacor and the which she learned the technique, form much of his interest in putting value in tradition and modernity.
