Conversation between Robert Cahen and Nekane Aramburu about his work and evolution

Es Baluard and Consorci Serra de Tramuntana organize a joint project under the name of “Missions artístiques to the Serra de Tramuntana”. The project begins with the conference of the French videocreador Robert Cahen that takes place in the museum, Friday 29 of September. It will be in conversation format addressing significant issues such as approach to the artist and open debate.
The work of Robert Cahen (Valence, 1945) has been recognized among other aspects by the way of meaning travel and decoding the layers of reality of the territories to be discovered. Since the 70’s, he is one of the most important image artists in Europe working the video specifically on single-channel projection and installation.
The conference will give way to a workshop in the landscapes of the village of Deià, on September 30, October 1 and 2. This workshop, which requires prior registration, is based on a few days of theoretical and practical character in coexistence in this significant town of the Sierra de Tramuntana and take as a space a mountain refuge. From the visual construction of Cahen will work on the plane sequence in his work, the way of filming or the painting in movement, carrying out an analytical investigation with the students and projects / exercises that are proposed.
