The FES (Summer Festival of Es Baluard) has finished its edition of 2017 with a total of 4,995 visitors. The festival, started on June 6 with the Canadian singer Julie Doiron's concert at the Summer Pie Festival, culminated on September 10 with the Festival Internacional de Videoarte (FIVA). During these months, the FES has given spaces to the best of contemporary art with music, cinema, art and gastronomy.
Along the program of this edition a total of six festivals have taken place: the Summer Pie Festival (6, 16 and 17 of June), Mallorca Soul Weekend (30 of June and 1 of July), Neotokyo (29 of July), Mecal Air (4, 11 and 18 August), Van Big (1 and 2 September) and FIVA (from 25 August to 10 September).
FES arises from the interest of the museum to support the work of independent cultural organizers and agents by projecting their work abroad and giving them visibility. At the same time, it aims to attract the different publics, making Palma an attractive and unified summer entertainment offering from a range of quality and innovation.
Es Baluard wants to show his gratitude to all the organizers, Pecan Pie, Semilla Negra, Ensaïmada musical, Neotokyo, Mecal, Baleares street food association Bacoca and FIVA, sponsor Rock Beach, as well as the attendants of this 2017 edition.
