Es Baluard and Maó City Council work together

Es Baluard and the City Council of Maó signed, on June 15, an agreement that aims to initiate a plan of collaboration and concrete various actions and interinstitutional construction routes.

During a working session in Es Baluard, its director Nekane Aramburu, and the 1st Deputy Mayor of Culture, Festivals and Port of the City Council of Maó, Héctor Pons, the two entities have marked a line of action with the interest of promoting relations Between different institutions of the Balearic Islands and generate joint projects.

Between the first collaborations will be carried out the course of training of artists 'Workshop of analysis and production of work' to be celebrated in the month of June 2017 in Ca n'Oliver and the exhibition of works of video-art of the collection Es Baluard And DKV in the same space in September 2018.

The training course is a project directed at artists, which will feature artist Joan Morey and Nekane Aramburu, who in two collective sessions, on 26 and 27 June, will enable the reflection and critical analysis of the body of work of the participating artists . A production of Es Baluard with the support of Illenc and the City of Maó.

In this sense, Es Baluard Foundation is responsible for the scientific management and general commissariat of the project, organization of the meeting-days in June 2017 and the exhibition of September 2018. The Municipalities of Maó assumes the transfer of the space of Ca n'Oliver for the activity of June 2017 and the exhibition of 2018, as well as the dissemination of the planned activities.

On the other hand Es Baluard and the City Council of Maó have highlighted that this agreement has developed open channels for advice and progress in the face of a joint vision of the cultural policies of the Balearic Islands from a local and international perspective.
