«Estat previ» project, developed by the HARAKAT Platform, is the result of the need to reflect on the archives in the previous state. Their will be the third and last edition of the “Collectives at the Observatori” project on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of Es Baluard, after “NuSongs. Concert in acoustic cycle” by Pecan Pie and “Aforisms, notes and notes in verse by Andreu Vidal” by the Clúster de Còmic i Nous Mèdia de Mallorca.

We understand as a prior state the one in which a file has not yet been subject to intervention by specialized institutions or, in which, for different reasons, the file remains in the peripheries of its possible interest, in a while and a space away from its default functionality. Thus, the previous state puts the attention in the file prior to its management, classification and quantification.

«Estat previ» draws attention to the state of the archive prior to the dissemination for the management, classification and quantification, either from the methodologies of the conventional archive as well as from alternative approaches such as those proposed from the anarchism. It supposes a reflection on the ecology of the disused files, in this previous state and on the new powers far from the conventional archival. Therefore, it is a project that shows the provisional result of a dialogue that is articulated from the starting points which, despite being heterogeneous, make up a constellation of proposals and answers from where to continue articulating the archive from anarchistic practices.

It brings together the various materials proposed by Pedro G. Romero, Edu Comelles, Ricardo Pérez-Hita, Francesca Masoero, Nabil Djedouani, Marina Planas and Marta Sesé. Despite the eclecticism of formats and contents, the common denominator between all of them and all of us is the meta-archive discourse and practice in order to activate the archive from unexplored perspectives.

On November 22 at 7:00 p.m. there will be a presentation of the projects awarded by the Goethe-Institut and of the artists resident in Casa Planas, within a program that develops new approaches and actions with the archives from an artistic creation perspective to generate new speeches and stories related to the present. Participants: Ángela Bonadies, Daniel Gasol and Sa Galania Collective.

«Estat previ» is a project conceptualized and developed by Ro Caminal, Pau Catà and Balbina Sardà members of Platform Harakat in collaboration with Casa Planas and the support of Es Baluard Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Palma.
