ART COLLECTING AND PATRONAGE

Es Baluard starts a new annual project right at the beginning of the summer and coinciding with the beginning of Art Basel.

"Art collecting and Patronage" is a program to promote actions on the collecting and different routes of sponsorship and patronage, as a meeting point open to the heritage building and the art from the civil society. Every June will be different actions in this regard.

The cycle starts in the best possible way, with a first session featuring the launch of Carmen Reviriego’s book El laberinto del arte (published by Grupo Planeta’s Editorial Paidós) on June 17 at 8 pm in the Aljub.

In addition to the book's author, very relevant persons from Baleares and the international environment will take part in the presentation, which will be introduced by Es Baluard's director, Nekane Aramburu. They are José María Lafuente (art collector) and Amparo Sard (artist), aimed to build a discussion and analysis panel on collecting today, and those ideas that provides the book on the art market, its operation, rules and leading figures.
