ARXIU BALEARS PARTY
30th January is the Es Baluard's anniversary and, as every year, we want to celebrate it. Therefore, a meeting to present the latest "Arxiu Balears" (Balears files) news will be held from 12:00 pm.
This Es Baluard's project aims to explore new methods of documentation on the heritage and history of contemporary creation linked to the Balearic Islands. It is a digital platform that began in April 2013 to know the creators and agents linked to the museum's collection and its local and international surroundings.
"Arxiu Balears" is conceived as a key project-in-process aimed to research, conservation, documentation and dissemination of creation. It contains more than 50 hours of recording with over 50 art professionals, among them artists, collectors and designers. The "Arxiu Balears" is available on the Internet and runs parallel to the work of documentation and research of the museum's art collection. It will be unified through an open-source management system.
The idea is to integrate this online archive with the documentation and catalogue of the works from the museum's collection and to the history of modern and contemporary art of the Balearics through different agents that may explain them, recovering processes of oral transmission. The first recordings were presented at the Cervantes Institute in Madrid in February 2014 and until today the work has grown.
We'll gather some of the artists who took part in the project with a brief discussion at the 30th January meeting-party. There we'll also present the latest recorded videos.

The meeting with the artists will be at 12.00 pm.
At 1.00 pm will be projected videos from the "Arxiu Balears".
