BOOK DAY 2013

Es Baluard organizes a series of activities to mark the World Book Day 2013. This year, the museum remains committed to reading and culture in general and re-join the network of museums, led by the the Artium's library (Vitoria), which held for the seventh consecutive year a Bookcrossing action. 61 museums and art centers in Spain are attending this event (including the CCCB, MACBA, MNAC and Fundació Miró in Barcelona, La Casa Encendida and Museo de America in Madrid, MARCO and CGAC in Galicia, MUSAC in León and Fundación Botín in Santander, among others) releasing 3,000 books.

Es Baluard will released, specifically, fifty catalogs of the exhibitions the museum's carried out  in its nine years of history.

In addition to this activity, that day there will be a 10% off at the museum's shop and a point of sale with catalogs and other Es Baluard products ahead the El Corte Ingles center in Jaume III St.

Finally, an original action will be carried out with the participation and support of different agents and cultural personalities. During the afternoon of the 23th, there will be a reading in Catalan of Santiago Rusiñol's L'illa de la calma in a continous manner and which, besides being made by people involved in the cultural world, is opened to public involvement to create between us an uninterrupted reading. It is a tribute that Es Baluard pays to this important collection of reports that this year becomes centenary and which was written by one of the artists of the museum's collection represented in the temporary exhibition "Mallorca and interpretation of the landscape", which can be seen until May 26.
