Es Baluard Museu hosts one of the talks in Conversaciones pendientes cycle that Casal Solleric programs in different spaces in the city. On this occasion, under the title ¿Qué queda del conceptualismo? the artist Concha Jerez, present in the Museum’s collection, will dialogue with the philosopher and art critic, Fernando Castro Flórez.

Concha Jerez is one of the most important figures of Spanish contemporary art, distinguished with the National Prize for Plastic Arts and the Velázquez Prize, with an extraordinary career of exhibitions in museums and galleries, national and international, among which her retrospective at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía  (2020). Concha Jerez installations have a more critical than epic character, although they certainly resort to this interruption of emotions and, in general, of conventional “judgments of taste.” Interference must be understood as a process of deliberate estrangement that concludes with the will to intervene in specific spaces. Conversing with this pioneer of Spanish conceptual art also means placing oneself critically in the fundamental debates of the present.
