Es Baluard Museu programmes Los museos del siglo XXI, a conference by the president of ICOM Spain, Dora Llamas, within the framework of the activities planned for the celebration of the 20th anniversary.

Museums of the 21st Century aims to reflect on museum development since 2004, the year Es Baluard Museu was inaugurated, to continue analyzing the present and future challenges of museums and their collections, emphasizing relevant aspects such as sustainability, conservation and the relationship with communities, among other issues. Ultimately, it will explore the fundamental functions of museums to address and solve contemporary problems and challenges facing the museum institution in the post-pandemic world.

The International Council of Museums (ICOM) is an international organization of museums and professionals, aimed at the conservation, maintenance and communication of the world’s natural and cultural heritage, present and future, tangible and intangible. Created in 1946, ICOM is a non-governmental organization, which maintains a formal relationship with UNESCO and has consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.
