DANSA NOVEMBRE
Es Baluard hosts on Saturday, November 16, two performances of contemporary dance as part of the "DansaNovembre" festival, which is organized by ACDIB (Cultural Association of Dance of the Balearics), one of the museum's contributor-collective.
The two performances at the museum are: Beat -by Niña de Fuego company, formed by Curro Viera (drums) and Ingrid Medina (dancer)- and Öpera para un älce –by Luis Jaume, Eba Rubio and Vicens Mayans.
- Öpera para un Älce. This proposal stage is based on the conceptsof renunciation and pain relating to what must happen sooner or later, to what cannot be avoided, using an opera-shaped structure divided into different acts. Music, exaggerated theatricality, visual space, the exploration of the body and acerbic humour have been key elements in the construction of the show. We wanted to create a puzzle that the audience would have to piece together in order to see the result, providing details that mean nothing on their own but that brought together form a clear and precise image.
- Beat is a performance where dance and percussion weave a web in the present with the performers, physical space and the public. This makes the duration of the work varies in time and each representation is unique. Beat makes the audience vibrate with the sounds created by percussion. It is not a canned product. The different instruments are moved by different dance performance spaces accompanying and forming part of it as well as it serves as a guide to the different sonic textures. Dance and percussion meet, separate, merge, create atmospheres that surround and immerse the viewer in a sea of sensations.Beat brings you into the performance as if it will be part.
