Eduardo Kac Master class. Bio-art, biotechnology and transgenic art projects

Within the framework of activities in the Sustainable Landscapes programme, and continuing with our educational line specializing in Image and New Technology, Es Baluard is organising a master class by Eduardo Kac entitled “Bio-art, biotechnology and transgenic art projects”.

This master class is coordinated as an intensive session on Bio-art, a contemporary art tendency which uses knowledge and materials from living things as a work object or subject. Eduardo Kac is a historic pioneer of this line. The presentation will offer an overall vision of his career, with emphasis on his more recent works and significant pieces like the “GFP Bunny” project (2000), when he genetically manipulated a rabbit to give it fluorescent properties. Kac will speak of his recent transgenic artwork Natural History of the Enigma in which he generates new life forms using knowledge of genetic engineering, hybridizing his own DNA with that of a petunia flower.

This is a parallel activity of Eduardo Kac. Lagoogleglifo (further information).
