Es Baluard, a new museum model: innovation from management and education
As a beginning of a series of actions between Es Baluard and Ibiza, is scheduled for July 4 at Espai Cultural Foundation Baleària, Es Polvorí a first meeting as presentation and making contact with the Ibizan cultural and artistic context. This presentation and discussion and a briefing with the director Baluard, Nekane Aramburu, will also feature some of the artists Les Cliniques d'Baluard, the training program carried out by the museum: Anne de Harlez (Ibiza) Natasha Hall (London / Mallorca), Mar Ripoll (Mallorca) and Pedro Vidal (Mallorca).
Es Baluard is a museum of modern and contemporary art, located in the city of Palma de Mallorca and opened in 2004. Their patronage is composed of the Govern de les Illes Balears, Consell de Mallorca, Palma City Council Fundació d'Art i Serra. Therefore, created with the aim of working together with the four islands and establish collaborative network synergies.
Inserts in glocal, Baluard understands culture with a commitment to the identity from an open and mutant, organic and porous, as they have been the Balearic Islands in its long history international perspective.
Currently, Es Baluard is starting a milestone as an observatory and museum archaeologist continued both past and present immediately from its privileged strategic position in the Mediterranean, which will reassess the culture of the Balearic Islands and their international networks with built-in antenna and node.
The museum, beyond its architectural setting, the white cube to the exhibition proposes new models of culture expansion installed on the commitment to intellectual debate through collaborative strategies.
Contemporary creation has been and is the result of the collective. Only a company concerned with culture and active citizenship consisting of partners and stakeholders will be possible to build the precise cultural models for today's world.
From Es Baluard, it is understood that the rebuilding of the museum is to implement horizontal management systems. To that end, the museum team working on mainstreaming internally and as a mechanism of collective participatory organization with partners and external collaborators allowing the permeation processes medium and long term.
As a public utility, Baluard day focuses on Research and Development R & D from the optimization of resources and the excellence of its services both innovative management and quality of content primarily focused on:
a) Research the guarded collections and stages not represented, solving historiographical gaps and develop their knowledge.
b) Promoting interaction and teacher training.
The museum is a public good and should be paradigm of respect for equality at all levels as well as the rights of living beings in order to contribute to a more sustainable and fair world, while complying with environmental resources and ecology from education in civic values, social commitment and culture. Attentive to the evolution of a society, Baluard wish to contribute to networking and open from transparenciacomo ethical principle.
"Les Clíniques d'Es Baluard" is the first permanent training program launched by the museum, whose first edition took place between September 2013 and March 2014 a total of 18 participating artists. This project area is Es Baluard Training aims to promote the professionalization of the arts sector from the museum institution, enabling analysis tools, knowledge and monitoring of professional artistic practice. It is open to all professionals or being professional artists project, regardless of age, who find it necessary to enter into a coaching program.
"Les Clíniques d'Es Baluard" aims to develop specialized modules to evaluate and promote the career of artists internationally but with special emphasis on artists from the Balearic Islands, based, inter alia, in the analysis and review of portfolios and dossiers the concept of being an artist today, copyright, relating to museums, galleries and spaces in between. The project has the support of several entities of Palma and renowned professionals.
