ES BALUARD CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY

Es Baluard organizes to mark International Museum Day 2014 a series of activities, following the title this year, "Museum collections make connections". The museum, as a member of ICOM, joins the activities activated for this day. These are the activities proposed by Es Baluard:

Saturday, May 10

  • As a first activity, the museum offers a tour of its sculpture collection. It is a guided tour, as part of the cycle "Art and Public Space" focused on showing sculptures in the museum and its surroundings. At 10:30 am. Free admission. Confirmation is required to this email adress: difusio@esbaluard.org

Saturday May 17

  • Opening of the family workshops exhibition "Familía! El dissabte va d’art 2013/14" at 10:30 am. At 11 am will be given the open activity "Dalt Baix / Baix Dalt" aimed at families with children 3-12 years old. This activity is based on the exhibition "Rafel Joan. Paintings 1983 – 2013". It's free and reservation is not required.

Sunday, May 18

  • Open doors to celebrate International Museums Day. The museum is open from 10 am to 3 pm.

  • Special day for members of Amics d’Es Baluard: the museum invites members to a meeting in the museum cafe at 11:30 am. New projects will be discussed and a photo group will be taken.

  • Clandestine Sundays: Mallorca Swing association celebrates another day of dancing and swing music at the museum outdoors as a part of the “Clandestine Sundays: Modern Art and swing in Es Baluard", an activity linked to those works of the exhibition "Implosió" focused on modern art and the avant-garde . Clandestine (in the world of swing) are diurnal swing dancers meetings in public places, to enjoy this music style, encouraging social and playful dimension of this type of dance.

Monday, May 19:

  • Guided tour exclusively for Amics d’Es Baluard to the museum art storehouse. At 12 am. Limited places. Confirmation is required.
