On Sunday, 8th November, in collaboration with Evolution International Film Festival, Es Baluard will project the recent documentary Malpartida Fluxus Village, directed by María Perez.

Malpartida was the village in the province of Caceres where the Spanish Fluxus movement was developed. Wolf Vostell is an artist present in Es Baluard’s permanent collection who has been linked to the Balearic Islands since 1992. The Fluxus movement was created by George Maciunas in 1962 and brought together over fifty plastic artists, musicians, poets and performers with a radical, interdisciplinary character that was the heir of Dadaism and Surrealism.

Synopsis:
German artist Wolf Vostell moved with his family to a small village in the region of Extremadura, Malpartida (province of Caceres) in the mid-1970s. There, in the midst of primitive nature, he founded a contemporary art museum with the inhabitants of the area, making Malpartida the first Fluxus village. The documentary is a tribute to Vostell on what would have been his 80th birthday.
