Winter / Spring Workshops

This is me!

Behind every work of art there is a story, what is yours? We propose a research workshop on self-awareness by experimenting with colour and line. A workshop where, through careful observation of the portraits of different artists present in the exhibition “In Conversation: The Museum and the Collection”, we will reflect and create our own portrait with complete creative freedom.

  • Workshop for families with children from 3 to 5 years old
  • Saturdays, March 9, 16, April 13, 27 and May 4, 2024
  • Timetable: 11:00 h

*Francesca Corso is an Italian illustrator; she works with images and with them creates illustrated stories for children and for publishers all over the world. She loves the world of illustration and art and strongly believes that a picture book is an important and fundamental medium for everyone, young and elderly people. Her stylistic research is based on the search for colour and atmosphere, on the emotion she tries to convey through illustrations focused on direct communication with children.

 Let’s move with art

Experiential workshop, based on the exhibition “In Conversation: The Museum and Collection“, with dance dynamics and plastic arts to get into the universe of cubism. We will experiment on the deconstruction of the body and the multiple perspective and we will create together a large collective mural.

  • Workshop for families with children from 6 to 12 years old
  • Saturdays, February 17 and 24, March 23 and April 20, 2024
  • Timetable: 11:00 h

* MOVART, is formed by Lola Lloberas and Marina Cánovas, the first dancer and the second plastic artist. Together they have created a project of research, creation and dissemination on the relationship between visual arts and movement, which aims to enter into the work of different artists in the history of art in an experiential and cooperative way.

Christmas Workshop

Objects from memory

Following the narrative of family genealogy within the exhibition “even in a language that is not your own” by the artist Ian Waelder, he invites his father, the sculptor Juan Waelder, to offer us one of his ceramic workshops. In this workshop, father and son will activate different exercises where they will share stories and memories from our objects in order to build a collective work among all the participating families.

  • Workshop for families with children from 6 to 12 years old
  • 28th and 29th December 2023
  • Time: 11:00 a.m.

*Juan Waelder (Santiago de Chile, 1947) is an artist who works in sculpture with a focus on the representation of the body, using materials such as ceramic, plaster, steel and bronze. He has been teaching sculpture and painting for 12 years in his workshop at Belmond La Residencia in Deià for families and adults.

*Ian Waelder (Madrid, 1993) is an artist and editor whose work is mainly based on concepts linked to memory, trace and language, using media ranging from photography and sculpture to sound and installation. He combines his artistic practice with his publishing house Printer Fault Press, specialising in artists’ books.

Alek looking for Sophie

From a corner of the universe comes a being capable of giving life to a corner of the Museum. This character enters into the exhibition «Aimless. Confronting Imago Mundi» and finds a particular cosmos full of geometric abstractions and biomorphic forms. All this will awaken in him the desire to look for some earthlings with whom he will not stop dancing and playing.

  • Saturdays 25th November, 2nd and 16th December 2023, and Wednesday 27th December (Christmas Holidays)
