FIVA (International Videoart Festival)
Es Baluard is once again collaborating with FIVA (International Videoart Festival): the videos selected by the jury, which has chosen the winners from 802 artists participating in this year’s festival, will be screened starting on 19th February.
The members of the jury were Nekane Aramburu, Carlos Trilnick and Brian Mackern. Based on their broad-reaching experience as experts in electronic art and video, they awarded the first prize to the work Prodigal by Livia Ungur and Sherng-Lee Huang (Rumania-United States).
The festival, which has been held in Buenos Aires since 2011, is directed by Soledad Sánchez, Marcela Andino and Hernán Raggi, and collates an up-to-date perspective of the international videoart scene, proposing incentives for contemporary audiovisual creation and presenting a wide aesthetical diversity in the view of the jury.
“With FIVA, our aim is to disseminate artistic practice in the form of videoart, benefitting the production of the directors in this way. We propose diffusing an up-to-date language in order to shorten the gap that exists between artistic production and the general public”, the organisers explained.
A selection of the videographic works can be accessed at Intermedi from 19th February to 17th April 2016.
