From aeromodelling to drones

This roundtable is a finissage-activity of "Reproductibilitat 1.2. Fundación Aena + Es Baluard", aiming to deepen in the phenomenon the drones in our society and culture.

These devices were not invented for entertainment but for military purposes, to recognize a location from the air, without jeopardizing anyone's life. From that moment on, and thanks to their cameras, drones where used in other areas. Today, the most popular are those provided with propellers and high-resolution cameras, ready to film and take pictures high above the ground.

According to experts, drones are not only a unique opportunity to work, but they also show its possibilites, thus they can be used in photography, video, aerial surveillance, firefighting, fumigation, research, etc. Moreover, given its spread, the Ministerio de Fomento y la Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aérea (AESA) has developed a set of legislation requiring pilots to take a course to make the flight of these devices safe for anybody.
