GRAN SOL

From the moment of its formation, Gran Sol has created an expectation unusually in the Mallorca’s fruitful and crowded scene. And this expectation is more than justified, with a solid live sound and incontestable repertoire. Their expected debut album is a joy from the beginning to the end. A treatise on elegant post-punk and crepuscular post-grunge with a Mediterranean touch.

The aesthetics of Gran Sol has a strong cinematographic seal. All the best David Lynch saturated colors, Jim Jarmusch’s black and overwhite, Wim Wenders’s granular black and white… Their songs range from the delicate, containment and explosion with thousands of nuances growing each listener hears. The musical references extracted from these hints refer to the strength and savagery of the Bad Seeds and Grinderman, the vocal power of Anna Calvi and dreamlike atmospheres of Goldfrapp's Felt Mountain.
 
The concert in Es Baluard is the first official presentation of their imminent debut album for Primeros Pasitos seal, one of the most expected in the Majorcan music scene since they began to attract attention, almost from their first concert two years ago. This will include special guests, such as the Xisco Albéniz from La Búsqueda (which, in turn, will be versioned by Gran Sol in a compilation album that will be soon published).
