Es Baluard Museu and the Conselleria de Fons Europeus, Universitat i Cultura of the Govern de les Illes Balears propose a new session of I-CorDes, Institut de Corpologies Deslocalizades, a public program that aims to return bodies to the center, reaffirm their face-to-face position in space, in the environment, at a time when they have been relegated to the seclusion and no contact. The session includes a theoretical, a practical and a sound part, led respectively by Victoria Pérez Royo, Societat Doctor Alonso and Zinkman.
PROGRAM
- 11:00 am – 1:30 pm. «Moment 1». Theoretical session by Victoria Pérez Royo
In this first moment of the session we will share texts and reflections to think about off-centered, peripheral corporeality, outside of itself, bodies in becoming with the environment, embarked on multiple processes of figuration, foreshadowing and disfigurement. These are corporalities that do not anticipate their limit before contact and that display affected listening and attention that, as Gloria Anzaldúa would say, allows them to “listen to the voices of the wind and understand their messages”.
Paying attention to these corporalities allows us to address three questions: on the one hand, to study certain subversions of the disciplined, administered and impoverished bodies of contemporary life. On the other hand, articulate a new basis to rethink the democratic project beyond the sovereign and autonomous subject, which understands freedom as property of itself. Finally, to address some displacements in the contemporary scene, which, beyond the performativities of presence and representation, point to listening, or invocation.
- 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm. Lunch break
- 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm «Moment 2». Practical session by Societat Doctor Alonso
We will chain, in a limited exterior space, four practices aimed at facilitating spaces where an inflection can occur in our way of perceiving space, the body and our speech. A twisting or warping of something that was straight or flat, or a point of curve in which its curvature changes direction, and also, the alteration of some voices.
- 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm «Moment 3». Sound session by Zinkman
We are surrounded by waves and vibrations everywhere, our body is a transmitter and a receiver of frequencies, an antenna with the ability to decode that information through emotions. Music is capable of invading our body and causing a change in our mood, it seems like a simple invisible oscillation, but something inevitably links us to its transforming power.

Societat Doctor Alonso (SDA)
Sofía Asencio (dancer and choreographer) and Tomàs Aragay (theater director and playwright) co-direct the company Societat Doctor Alonso, with which they have built a language that finds one of its fundamental keys in the concept of displacement. From placing something out of its own place, scope or space, to investigate how this displacement modifies language both in terms of its constitutive grammar and in the reading that an observer can do: displace to reveal something. This maneuver has been revealed as an effective tool to generate spaces for poetic discourse that challenge the status quo of our understanding of reality.
