  • Time: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Space: Aljub
  • Dynamization: Jesús Carrillo and Berta Sureda

Es Baluard Museu hosts this meeting that brings together various Spanish cultural institutions. The purpose of this meeting is to put in dialogue different initiatives that are characterised by enhancing the transformative capacity of culture and art with the objective of testing social imaginaries that respond to the complexity of contemporary challenges from the empowerment, empathy and respect to differences.

Processes that are defined by their situated nature, linked to each of the contexts and territories in which they arise, but which also have the potential to resonate on different scales and in different places.

In Imagine new Europes eight programs framed in seven Spanish cultural institutions come together: lo vivo · lo pueblo · lo jondo – Geopsiquias del Albaicín (La Madraza, Granada); Fábrica de cultura popular del Albayzín (La Madraza, Granada); De/tra(n)s (TEA, Santa Cruz de Tenerife); Jardín Ambulante (MACBA, Barcelona); Poliglotía (IVAM, Valencia); Laboratorio de arte y pensamiento. Zona de contacto: Reparar las crisis (Es Baluard Museu, Palma); Museo Situado (Museo Reina Sofía, Madrid) and AMAonline (Artium Museoa, Vitoria-Gasteiz).

Based on these experiences, we will share reflections on the way in which artists, citizens and institutions collaborate in the construction of ways of life in common in a period shaken by precariousness and uncertainty, but in which knowledge, poetics and ways of doing emerge with enormous power.

Imagine new Europes is a collective project promoted by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union and curated by Jesús Carrillo.
