INTERNATIONAL MUSEU DAY 2013

According to the International Museum Day, which take place every May 18, Es Baluard organizes a series of activities. This year, the theme is "Museums (memory + creativity) = social change" and "aims at showing that the richness of our historical heritage, preserved and displayed by museums, together with the inventiveness and vitality that have characterised the museum sector’s action in recent years, are where the strength of museum institutions lies today (ICOM).  

Es Baluard, located in the bastion of Sant Pere, construction executed from the 17th century and part of the old wall of Palma, is an example of this heritage referred by the ICOM. According to this, the museum hosts on May 18 open doors from 10 am to 8 pm and celebrate the end of the year 2012-2013 of family workshops with the opening of the exhibition of  its results and inviting to those families who wish to relive some of these workshops. In addition, Es Baluard's staff is pleased to invite those who wish to see what the museum's day-to-day showing the tasks of every area. Readings by students from the School of Dramatic Art of the Balearic Islands (ESADIB) will be performed at different spaces of Es Baluard through the day.
