INVIHSIBLE?

The Es Baluard Education Area and ALAS (Associació de Lluita Anti-Sida de les Illes Balears) joined for “INVIHSIBLE?”, a project of therapeutic support and art group creation aimed at people living with VIH and interested in work their live using contemporary art as a expression and reflexion path.

INVIHSIBLE? will take place from January to March, 2012, features an art project by the artist Carles Gispert in a hospital of the Balearic Islands. Concretely, with VIH pacients in the Hospital Universitari Son Espases and Es Baluard.

The project has a dual role because, firstly, accompanies therapeutically VIH patients for the externalization of their invisible, silent experiences for fear of stigma or rejection, and the other uses contemporary art as a path of expression and reflection about the disease and its reality.

Art contemporary will be approached to the various users of a hospital, breaking the hospital routine and increasing the quality of life of patients and users. On the other hand, the participants will deliver a different message about VIH to the society, making their reality and problems visible.

This project is within the framework of the "Contemporary Art in Hospitals" program, which is possible due to the support of the Convocatòria CULTURA Euroregió 2010 of Euroregió Pirineus Mediterrània with the collaboration of the photographer Rif Spahni.

The result of the project will be exhibited from May 9 to June 3 in the Hall of the Son Espases Hospital and in Es Baluard from July 3 to 8, 2012.
