JOE CREPÚSCULO. EL CALDERO
Joe Crepúsculo has just released his fifth solo disc, El Caldero. This Catalan singer-songwriter is characterised by his deep, surrealist lyrics, all with a background of lo-fi. Initially he wrote bakalao music and was a member of different groups until creating Tarántula, a band that came into being in 2003 and is still active now. His first solo work was Escuela de Zebras (Producciones Doradas, 2008), with contributions by Daniel Descabello, Sergio Thelemático and Daniel De Beef, with which he took part in the “Única vez” festival. Recognition came with Supercrepus, (Producciones Doradas, 2008), a double album containing 20 love songs that was selected as best Spanish disc by the magazine Rockdelux and by Indinauta.com.
After Chill-Out (Discoteca Océano, 2009) and Nuevo Ritmo (Mushroom Pillow, 2011), which contained returns to previous themes, he now presents his fifth solo disc, El Caldero (Mushroom Pillow, 2011), the album in which Joe Crepúsculohas invested the most time and where he returns to the more organic sounds. According to the singer himself, the disc somehow contains the Middle Ages, the I Ching, Oriental philosophy, Lovecraft, Zecharia Sitchin, Attic tragedy and Nikola Tesla. The first single on El Caldero is "Enseñame a amar" (‘Teach me to love’).
Joe Crepúsculo is one of the artists performing in the Primavera Sound and FIB festivals in 2012.
