JORDI MARANGES

The singer Jordi Maranges will be the star in the 8th edition of Fascicles Musicals d'Es Baluard, to be held on Friday June 1 at 10 pm and where the musician will present his new album, Circo del Amor. After the concerts of Papa Topo, Oso Leone, The Bankers, Emilio José, Sr. Nadie, Oliva Trencada and Bedroom in previous editions of Fascicles Musical is now the turn of this singer/songwriter from Mallorca who describes himself as a "chansonnier emerged from Mallorca".

The songs by Jordi Maranges express the vulnerability of human relationships, dreams and fantasies of outsiders seeking their place in the world, the magic in everyday living. His compositions have the plasticity that faces Broadway musicals, old technicolor films and Torch songs of the 60s. They could be defined as a cross between folk, cabaret and the melodramatic pop of The Smiths or Rufus Wainwright. He is accompanied by an acoustic guitar and other heterodox items (toy pianos, music boxes, etc..) And various musicians who will offer musical support. Jordi Maranges's released a solo album (after his experience at the head of El diablo en el ojo, which released two LPs with the firm Primeros Pasitos and was very successful in the national indie market) entitled El baile de los cangrejos, released by independent label recording Manlay, with which he has received great reviews in the mainstream country music (RNE3, Mondosonoro, Vanity, Tendencias magazine).

Circo del Amor is the new musical adventure of Jordi Maranges, a new collaboration with some fellow from Mallorca island (Miquel Mesquida, El Prehome indefinit), and use English in two of the tracks (Strange Affair, Song for Ludwig). A nuanced work that breaks new paths in his particular musical journey. This LP contains five songs talking on the idealization of love and sex, romance and solitude in the Internet world, nostalgia for the lost paradise… Was recorded in the studies Prehome Indefinit and Miquel Mesquida's Moreland Studios. The concert will be completed with projections by the visual artists Diego and Jerome Truyols.   Band: Jordi Vidal: Minikorg, Rhodes Xisco Joan: bass, accordion, clarinet Jordi Maranges: vocals, acoustic guitar …. and some great guest stars!
