LITERATURE AND PRIDE: 'Vanitas', 'hybris' and other presumptions

The UIB Department of Spanish, Modern and Classical Literature organizes the Second International Seminar of Literature and Sin, which will be held from January 7 through 10, 2013 in Es Baluard.

This second edition is entitled "Literature and Pride: Vanitas, hybris and other presumptions" and aims to study the relationship between Literature and Pride from a multidisciplinary and transatlantic point of view, gathering twin cultures such as Italian, the Portuguese, Catalan and Spanish and distant periods representing proposals from classical Greek and Latin poetry to that contemporary.

The seminar is coordinated by Professor Lourdes Pereira, the Department of Spanish, Modern and Classical UIB, Professor Dolores Juan, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Professor Giovanni Spano, the College of the Holy Cross (USA). With the collaboration of the Department of Cultural Activities at the UIB.
