MADAME ET MOI

Madame et moi is a music group that came into being in spring of 2007 and after having taken part in diverse multi-disciplinary miseen-scènes Anna Carné and Núria Carrera have taken the helm and now direct a musical show based and inspired on the silent movie concept entitled Música cega (lit. ‘Blind music’). These two multi-instrumentalist mademoiselles from the region of Girona studied classical music and, searching for new musical horizons, they found themselves performing acoustic experiments with the CaboSanRoque group. Their music is purely instrumental, and between the two of them they play the guitar, the piano, the melodica, the cello, the accordion, the cymbals… finding different atmospheres for each subject.

In the Música cega show the script is based on the different phases of a relationship between the main characters: a police inspector and his lover, called Dominique. The music was composed especially for this project, the compositions of which are descriptive, like sound postcards, and they act as a guide to the spectator’s imagination. The combination of the mysterious music, the poetical objects and the play of light and shadow creates atmospheres that transport us to the American film noir, but also to the films of the French nouvelle vague and of Italian neo-realism.
