Observation of the light phenomenon of the winter solstice
The observation of the light effect that coincides with the winter solstice in La Seu de Mallorca can be seen from the terraces of Es Baluard Museu. A spectacle of light and colour that takes place in the month of December and allows you to contemplate the sunrise through the two rose windows of the Cathedral – the main rose window and the rose window on the main façade – thus creating a kind of giant kaleidoscope.
Saturday, December 21
7:30 a.m. Opening of the museum doors.
8 am Concentration at the Baluard de Sant Pere.
8:15 am Observation of the light phenomenon from the terraces of Es Baluard Museu.
8:30 am Lecture “Formas y Sombras” by Joaquín Sevilla (Aljub)

Christmas at the Bookshop
This Christmas give stories, ideas, experiences… The Museum Bookshop is a place and point of reference for books on thought, essay, feminism or aesthetics, among other subjects, and where you can also find a careful selection of small and independent publishers, as well as gift items, author’s jewellery, and much more!
And between 6 December and 5 January, we will give you a free museum catalogue for purchases over €25.
Moreover, this holiday season, make a different, original and personalised gift with a Member of Es Baluard card.
