Objects from Memory. Ceramics workshop

Educa amb l’Art is a program by Apropa Cultura that teaches how to enrich, enhance, and give a new dimension to your work as educators through various artistic disciplines.

Training is aimed at professionals in social and educational action. No previous artistic knowledge is required, just a desire to enjoy and share.

What will we do?

Following the narrative of family genealogy within the exhibition «even in a language that is not your own» by the artist Ian Waelder, he invites his father, sculptor Juan Waelder, to offer us a ceramics workshop. In this workshop, we will activate various exercises to share stories and memories based on our objects, delving deeper and working from the technique of clay modeling.

The instructor, Juan Waelder

Born in Santiago, Chile, in 1947, he is an artist who works in sculpture focusing on body representation; he uses materials such as ceramics, plaster, steel, and bronze. For 12 years, he has been teaching sculpture and painting classes for families and adults at his workshop at Belmond La Residència in Deià.

Session Preparation Materials: Comfortable and dirt-friendly clothing, a small personal object.
