«Paco de Lucía on the Island. An intimate look 2002-2014» explores, from the photographs of the musician’s widow, Gabriela Canseco (Mexico City, 1966), Paco de Lucía’s relationship with Mallorca through a story composed of pictures that are outlined on a map of the musician.
The project presents photographs of the composer in Mallorca, and others related to his trips to the island, as well as personal objects connected with his latest album Canción Andaluza (2015), a sculpture and a projection where the musician appears recording the album in Palma. Likewise, a text written by journalist Andreu Manresa, friend of the composer, is also on display in the Aljub.
The curator of «Paco de Lucía on the Island. An intimate look 2002-2014», Tomeu Coll (Palma, 1981), is a photographer and has developed different projects in cities such as New York or Berlin.
The show is organized by El Club Ultima Hora Valores in collaboration with the Conselleria de Transparència, Cultura i Esports del Govern de les Illes Balears and Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma.
