PALMA AMB LA DANSA

Es Baluard collaborates one year again with the contemporary dance festival Palma amb la Dansa. Now hosting the show Encaixar (to fit) of the mao company.

Encaixar is a dance piece that goes through different personal imageries and interior landscapes, from the most essential physicality.
 
The construction of Encaixar has been a passionate and exciting process with the involvement of the the four members of Malmenats: Mariantònia Oliver, Jaume Manresa, Pedro Mas and Pepón Prades. They started from the question 'What we need to say and how we can surprise ourselves?', which led them to radically change their work patterns and to rethink the role of each of them.
 
On stage, they attend a dialogue between the performer, Mariantònia Oliver, and musician Jaume Manresa, both connected by an active listening and deep complicity. Pedro Mas and Pepón Prades took part accompanying the process, proposing materials and themes to explore and providing an exterior point of view.
 
Encaixar (to fit) the life, over the time, the hits, the bones, the changes, the things which are and those can can't be. Always from the body language. A lived body, available to embrace anything that arises. Fragile and sassy at the same time. A body that, as Mariantònia Oliver says at some point in the piece, 'has phrases' and talk to us, sometimes from the urgency and others from the serenity, about the experience, the need, the age and pleasure.
