PANEL DISCUSSION, 'HOW TO ESTABLISH NEW WAYS OF PRODUCTION, FUNDING AND PROMOTION WITHIN THE CONTEMPORARY ART INDUSTRY'

At a turning point and structural change in the national cultural fabric, this panel presents different ideas and views on how we can move forward in the production and promotion of contemporary art. It will cover the following points as starting elements for discussion:  

• Invigorate cultural centers, real engines of contemporary creation, and create synergies between the different Spanish centers.
• To encourage private investment through an increasingly urgent patronage law.
• Intensify educational work to the general public to take opacity away the contemporary art world.
• Foster relationships with foreign official institutions with which we put some light on both the cultural offerings of the Islands, and the quality of the artists represented.

• Eva Moraga: lawyer specializing in advising professional and cultural organizations in the field of creation and the visual arts, Founder in Por & Para and Coordinator of the Grupo de Transparencia del Sector Artístico del IAC.
• Mercedes Basso Ros: General Director of the Fundación Arte y Mecenazgo.
• Bel Cerdà: Director General of the Ministry of Culture, Education, Culture and Universities of the Government of the Balearic Islands.
• Pilar Ribal i Simó: Director of Fundació Palma Espais d'Art.
