Es Baluard Museu reschedules the presentation of the essay Agnès Varda: espigadora de realidades y de ensueños of the journalist and film critic, Imma Merino will be presented by the doctor in Art History and specialist professor of cinema at the UIB, Maria Magdalena Brotons accompanied by the journalist, Cati Moyà. Both will talk with the author, Imma Merino, who teaches a seminar on Varda’s work at the museum.
The book contains an essay on Varda’s filmography and one of the last interviews given by the filmmaker, and testimony that her film, between documentary and fiction, has traveled on a path that is as personal as it is inspirational, questioning and transgressing. the boundaries between genres, life and representation, reality and dream, naturalness and artifice, chance and elaboration.
Agnès Varda has created cinematic images with a freedom that has always led her to create his own rules of the game. Sensitive to the events of her time and keeping a curiosity alive for others, her cinema has a testimonial vocation exercised with the realization that reality can never be trapped and that, in any case, is shown from subjectivity.
