STRUCTURES OF MOVEMENT FOR THE STAGE 2
Second installment of this workshop taught by Mariantònia Oliver arising from the collaboration with AAAPIB (Associació d'Actors i Actrius Professionals de les Illes Balears), this year entitled “El Aljub y el movimiento del actor dentro de un espacio con memoria” (the Aljub and the movement of the actor within a memory space).
The movement of the actor goes through different states and forms and takes the space morphology to create new dynamics and rhythms. The Es Baluard’s Aljub, a hall formerly dedicated to store water to supply the city, is an input and output space, of light and darkness. The enclosed water coming from the mountains contacts with the host rock, to –after the static experience- output the stream that feeds life. The body of the actor, both experienced and technical, filled with flows and water in constant motion, is surrounded by the same stone which saved the water, that one catered its ancestors. Just as the actor's body moves and shapes his ideas, his internal mechanics, the Aljub shapes the water that fed the city, water transmitting those secrets that circulated through confident and effective channels. The actor, incapable of being like water in a rigorous static, vibes and flows to express and watering the thirsty minds of the people.
Mariantònia Oliver's a creator, performer and teacher of dance and movement. She teaches in ESADIB and directs the project of the creation center Ca ses Monges in Maria de la Salut, Mallorca. She also coordinates creative projects for children and adults. She performed in Es Baluard with a great success Las Muchas in October 2011.
