Dora Maar despite Picasso, talk by Victòria Combalia

Following the objective of Es Baluard of making the presence of women in the art history visible, and as an activity parallel to “Permanent collection”, the museum invites the expert curator Victoria Combalía to present a monographic on Dora Maar.

Victoria Combalía’s talk will be lehd on 22nd March at 7.30 pm. The session will go on next day, at the same time, when the documentary film Dora Maar, a pesar de Picasso (Dora Maar in spite of Picasso) will be screened. Directed together with Alejandro Lasala, this film narrates the life and work of this French artist, placing her both in the Surrealism and the 1930s Photograph contexts and giving the keys to understand this complex, secret and enigmatic character.
