Unforeseen Conceptual Encounters workshop

Different proposals and interdisciplinary rapprochements for generating and documenting a creative process using a database/problem.

On the one hand, the workshop is part of the “UNforeseen Conceptual Encounters” and will connect the result obtained throughout the course of the solving of the problem illustrated by the equation: culture+education+art+cost=0, exhibiting its creative and collective process. And on the other hand, settling on the principles of poetic economy (established by Robert Filliou) and from the intersection of two sets (mathematics and language), the proposal to keep ideas moving continually is made in order to develop practical usage.

An invitation is extended to form a group of a maximum of 30 people who share an interest in taking part in resolving the initial equation and broadening the results presented hitherto. In this phase, both artistic and scientific methods are developed which superimpose knowledge and disciplines in order to generate unforeseen results, where “creating=solving” the problem. Among others, these methods will make use of modes of graphic representations, of relating and of equation systems at the same time as movement, play and speech are introduced.

The objective of the workshop is for its results to form part of the “UNforeseen Conceptual Encounters” and “To not abandon the world to specialists”, and as such it addresses an audience of professionals or non-professionals, students or non-students who wish to experiment by expressing one sensitivity from the stance of another, scientists or non-scientists who see mathematics as a creative process, artists and/or non-artists who work on the frontier of several disciplines.

On September 26th from 4 pm to 8 pm there will be an event opened to the public with free entrance, which will be developed by the artist Aris Spentsas and the computer scientist Vasilis Karacostas.
