As a result of Es Baluard Museum’s aim to be a community space, makes the museum work with a wide range of collectives of the Balearic citizenship. The performance of the educational department, apart from the school and family audience, has focused on the social field.
As a result, it regularly develops projects for the elderly, patients with different health problems, women, immigrants… The professionals (social workers and educators, therapists, psychologists…) who attend to the different groups become key agents in the shaping of the projects, as a result of which the work carried out by them in advance, in conjunction with the museum’s education team, is important.
Contemporary artistic practices, reflection and stimulation of critical acumen guide the different projects, which often become platforms for the visibilization of certain problems the group has within society.
