The programming of exhibitions is designed by the director of Es Baluard and defined on the basis of the museum’s mission, the research and dissemination of modern and contemporary art linked to the Balearic Islands and international contexts, with a curatorial sense affiliated to the contents and objectives of the museum’s strategic plan.

Historiographical Projects

With the aim of promoting historical analysis and contextualising the events of the recent past in artistic terms, the museum maintains a permanent public tender for the promotion of lines of research and dissemination on the subject of creators or groups from the Balearic Islands.

As part of its line of dissemination and recovery of a historiography of creators, artistic trends or collectives linked to or based in the Balearic Islands, Es Baluard invites researchers, curators and institutions to present review projects of these themes, through exhibitions or other formats that may be exhibited or presented in the museum, according to the different programming criteria evaluated by the director of Es Baluard. In particular the quality and opportuneness of the proposals will be taken into consideration, as will their artistic level and self-financing.

This open tender is established as a permanent suggestion box. Professionals interested in sending an exhibition project to Es Baluard, must take the museum's programming lines into account.

The following documents are required: a dossier containing the curatorial project, the graphic information and the financing viability (in PDF max. 10 Mb). The documentation should be sent to artistica01@esbaluard.org. Only those preselected will be called for a personal interview. All proposals will be assigned a registry number and assessed by the museum’s director and the Artistic Department team, who will notify you of its opportuneness, or lack thereof, and of the possibility of a personal interview in order to elaborate on contents.
