80'S AND DRIFTINGS
Set in different years of the 1980s and in different parts of Spain, this brief, but significant selection of works from the Es Baluard collection testifies to some of the characteristics and concerns that left their marks on the art of the decade and which, as can be seen in the exhibition, are preserved in their logical and personal driftings.
The huge-format paintings, the working of the subject and the incorporation of new pictorial material, the organic research, a figuration that re-emerges with energy, and the boom in sculpture boosted by the collectors in that period and even more so in all the subsequent years are all reflected in the works created in the 1980s by Andreu Alfaro, Miquel Barceló, Ferran García Sevilla, José María Sicilia or Antoni Socías, whose paths have, to a certain extent, been continued or picked up in the works of contemporary or later generations, represented in the exhibition by Miguel Ángel Campano, Rafa Forteza, Lluís Lleó, Guillem Nadal, Jaume Plensa and Bernardí Roig.
