«Estar-ne al corrent 1»
This project is part of the programme “Es Baluard en movement” (‘Es Baluard in movement’), created with the aim of diffusing the museum’s collection and its programmes not only in the Balearic Islands but also on a national and international level, through diverse actions.
The exhibition entitled “Estar-ne al corrent 1” (‘Keeping up-to-date 1’), co-produced by Es Baluard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma and Fundació Baleària and under the curatorship and direction of Nekane Aramburu, will take place in Es Polvorí, Ibiza, cultural space managed by Fundació Baleària, from 4th March to 1st April 2016, with the inauguration on 3rd March 2016.
“Estar-ne al corrent 1” was conceived as an initial approach to the work in video format of four artists represented in Es Baluard’s collection:Diana Coca, Michael Najjar, Francisco Ruiz de Infante and Amparo Sard.
On the day of the inauguration, a presentation talk will be given by Nekane Aramburu, the director of Es Baluard, on 3rd March at 7 pm in Es Polvorí. This will also be an initial contact with the island of Ibiza, with the intention of continuing to construct and open up new avenues of collaboration and mutual discovery.
In parallel, from 11th March to 10th April, the proposals from the works in progress of three artists who have taken part in the “Les Clíniques d’Es Baluard” support programme for artists – Natasha Hall, Natxa Pomar and Marta Pujades – will be presented on the Baleària boat on the Palma-Ibiza route.Piedad Solans has drafted a specific presentation text.
The alliance of Es Baluard and Fundació Baleària, which commenced in 2013, continues in 2016 with this new project which came into being as a form of communication and a consolidated inter-island encounter for approximation, with a perspective as a network open to other areas of action.
