JOAN BROSSA
"Jocs i camins de Joan Brossa" (The Games and Paths of Joan Brossa) commemorated the Museum’s first anniversary and encompassed 37 object poems, 26 visual poems and the film No compteu amb els dits (1967), with a script by Brossa and Pere Portabella.
The exhibition referred to the six aspects the Catalan poet worked on with the greatest intensity and represented a significant body of work created between 1967 and 1991: Transformacions a partir de l’alfabet, El pas del temps, Simulacre i metamorfosi, La crítica de l’entorn, Alè poètic and Visió irònica. It also included books created in collaboration with other artists such as Miró, Tàpies and Chillida.
The works of Joan Brossa presented in this exhibition are a representative display of his transversal personality and his facet as a plastic creator. Joan Brossa said, “I am one of those people who believe that the artistic phenomenon is a total unit in which the different arts signify different means of expression of an identical reality”.
