Catalogue of the first big review of the close relationship between Eduardo Arroyo and literature, curated by Marcos-Ricardo Barnatán. Reproductions of a selection of 60 works the Madrid-born artist has produced since 1965 in different disciplines: painting, drawing, sculpting, lithographs, set design, bibliophile books… The exhibition reflects the close relationship between his work and literature, both of which are a single passion revealed in the works chosen for this occasion, with writers and characters that have inspired him over his long career: James Joyce, Balzac, Nabokov, Stendhal, Don Juan, Don Quixote, Snow White… amongst many others. Arroyo transforms the meaning of the book and of the character with his own, always ironic, gaze, but surprisingly he also transforms the gaze of the spectator. A selection of the works exhibited reproduced in colour accompanies the critical text by curator Marcos-Ricardo Barnatán.
