Es Baluard presents the show dedicated to the evolution of the landscape painting genre that was popular between the late nineteenth century and the mid-twentieth century. It showcased the role the island of Mallorca played in the renovation of this genre in Spain and the island’s influence on several places in South America. Historian Francesc Miralles brought together more than 50 works by 24 prominent artists, such as Hermen Anglada-Camarasa, Santiago Rusiñol, Eliseu Meifrén, Joaquim Mir, Joan O’Neille, Antoni Ribas, Pedro Blanes Viale and Antoni Gelabert, among others. The catalogue contains critical essays and colour reproductions of the works in the exhibition.
