3,000 PEOPLE VISIT ES BALUARD DURING ART PALMA BRUNCH

3,004 people visited Es Baluard on Saturday 24 March, during the open doors day to mark the Palma Art Brunch. The museum opened from 10 am to 8 pm with free admission and visitors could enjoy the exhibition "Esther Ferrer. In four movements", "Realities / Fictions" and the permanent halls "Crossed landscapes. Views of Es Baluard's collection : Modernism - Postmodernism", "Cabinet: Dialogues in abstraction", "Sala Miró", "Dona, dona" and "Picasso ceramics". This is the first time Es Baluard takes part in the Art Palma Brunch.

Opened on February 27, "Esther Ferrer. In four movements" is a monograph of the winner of the National Prize of Arts 2008 curated by Rosa Olivares. Ferrer is a radical, independent, antiexhibition and free artist with her own ideas. For over forty years, Ferrer has been developing her work based on a knowledge of the world that is systematic, rigorous and methodical. And it seems that until recently she was absolutely unknown in Spain, although internationally recognised.

On the other side, "Realities / Fictions" is a selection of works from the Es Baluard's collection made by artists Marina Abramović, Pilar Albarracín, Diana Coca, Alicia Framis, Mònica Fuster, Alberto García-Alix, Robert Mapplethorpe, Núria Marquès, Joan Morey, Shirin Neshat, Amparo Sard and Marcelo Viquez. The exhibition will remain open until September 2, and is based on years of introspection, built stages and exhibition.
