ES BALUARD HOSTS THE MEETING OF THE EUROPEAN UNION CULTURAL RELATIONS

Es Balaurd hosts on 26 and 27 May a conference with the CEOs of cultural relations between the member countries of the European Union. The meeting, which is part of the activities organized during the Spanish presidency of the European Union, are organized by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECI) to study the current situation of the EU cultural action and to prepare plans and specific development strategies for improvement.

At the opening of the conference, which will take place tomorrow, Wednesday at 9:00 am, will figure the Director of Cultural and Scientific Relations of the AECI, Carlos Alberdi Alonso; the counselor of Education and Culture of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Bartomeu Llinàs; the president of the Council of Mallorca, Francina Armengol; and the mayor of Palma, Aina Calvo. Participating in the conference will be Liliana Pulido Villamil, director of ultural Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia; Steve Green, team chief of the Presidence of The Network of European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC); Fernando Gómez Riesco, vicepresident of International Cultural Cooperation of the Spanish Ministry of Culture; and Juan Pedro de Basterrechea, director of Commercial Management of the Instituto Cervantes.

Today will take place a dinner at BLD, the Es Baluard's restaurant. Previously, the participants of the meeting will visit the current Es Baluard's exhibitions: "In Private 2. The unamiable option", "The Sites of the Latin American Abstraction" and "Lou Reed. Romanticism".
