ES BALUARD JOINS THE BOOKCROSSING ACTION WITH 30 OTHER CENTERS
Museum Es Baluard is one of the 31 Spanish centers and museums which, on 15 April, to mark the World Book Day activities, will carry out a bookcrossing action. This is the first time Es Baluard is involved in this action, held for the fifth consecutive year in Spain, joining to: Artium (Vitoria), CCCB (Barcelona), Foundació Joan Miró (Barcelona), La Casa Encendida (Madrid), MUSAC (Leon), Fundació Antoni Tàpies (Barcelona), among others. In total, will be released more than 2,500 books on various artistic disciplines.
Es Baluard will release books related to art in different parts of Palma. The intention is that the city gets "flooded" with the books because people take them to enjoy reading and, after that, re-released them anywhere in the world. However, it will be remembered where the book began its journey since it includes a sticker with the signs of Es Baluard and it is registered at the website www.bookcrossing-spain.com. The aim of the campaign is to encourage reading and promote knowledge of different artistic disciplines
The bookcrossing was born in 2001 and is defined as "a global book club" based on "three Rs": Read, Register and Release.
