Es Baluard launches the winter’s calendar with activities and exhibitions
From Es Baluard we present our winter's calendar, a complete document, early and in three languages (Catalan, Spanish and English) of cultural, educational and training activities and exhibitions as well.
Current cycles as "Sant Sebastià, de la icona al mite II" are back again coinciding with the Feast of Sant Sebastià. In addition, the programmes "Paisatges Sostenibles" and "GranGent/GentGran" or collaborations with Art21 and CEP Palma. Also, the museum carries out in coming winter the activities of "Es Baluard Image Research", based on lectures by renowned experts. This is the case of the Chema Madoz master class.
Projects on gender equality and support for artists from "Les Clíniques d'Es Baluard" are reflected in actions like "Masculinitats coronades", a project of the artist Marta Pujades, or those from "Logbook: Natasha Hall and her crew", which will continue throughout the year of Archduke Louis Salvador.
Two major exhibitions will also take place during these months. On one hand, a review of the permanent collection to mark the museum's 11th anniversary on January 30 entitled "Implosió (cel·lular). Carte Blanche for Agustín Fernández Mallo". On the other, a large sample of international contemporary art focused on the Mediterranean and curated by Cecile Bourne entitled "La Mer au Milieu des Terres // Mare Medi Terraneum", to open on 13 March.
The results of the "Fellowship for the Production of a Videographic Creation DKV-Es Baluard" is shown in the Gabinet. It features the work of the artists Elssie Ansareo and Alaitz Arenzana. In addition, the museum continues focusing on analyzing artists from its collection. I'ts the case of Ignasi Aballí, whose work will be seen in the museum in coming months.
New technologies are gradually inserted in the museum's activities. It will begin in March with the International Festival of Video Art FIVA.
The museum will continue working in the Es Baluard cultural complex, invigorating it with different actions that will integrate diverse audiences into the winter programme.
