ES BALUARD PRESENTS ITS PIONEER WORK WITH HOSPITALS IN THE CONFERENCE "MUSEUMS SOCIALLY COMMITTED"
 
Es Baluard attends today the Conference of Museological Training "Open to all. Museums socially committed: Reflections and Experiences", organized by the Department of the Dirección General de Bellas Artes y Bienes Culturales y de Archivos y Bibliotecas, carried ou in Museo Nacional del Romanticismo (Madrid).
 
Specifically, Sebastià Mascaro, coordinator of the Es Baluard’s Area of Education and Training – will present "Contemporary artistic practices in a Health care context", within the round table entitled "The museum outside the museum and its usefulness as a therapeutic tool". In this context, he’ll explain the pioneering work of the Es Baluard’s area of Education and Training researching new ways from working with hospitals, both with users and the training its staff. 

The Es Baluard’s area of ​​Education and Training conducts programs in collaboration with the hospital community. Among them, especially noted the project "Contemporary Art in hospitals", developed in 2011 and 2012. During this time period, they were carried out different activities and artistic interventions within referral hospitals in different territories, aiming to bring contemporary art practices in the health sector to improve the quality of life of its users and to break hospital routine. This project was made possible by the call Cultura Eurorrégion 2010 and the collaboration of the Centre d' Art La Panera (Lleida) and Centre Régional d'Initiatives pour l'art contemporain, Le Bbb (Toulouse).
