Es Baluard Museu d'Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma received this week the visitor number 3 million, a milestone since the museum opened on January 30, 2004. She's Montse Pujulá, who visited the museum with Maximilià Oliver (image) last Wednesday. Both were received by the Deputy Mayor for Culture and Sports of Palma City Council and member of the Es Baluard's Board of Trustees, Mr. Fernando Gilet, and the museum's team, which delivered them a collection of museum catalogs and products. Likewise, Montse received an Amic d'Es Baluard card, that allow her to visit the museum for free with a friend for a year, exclusive visits with the exhibitions' artists and curators and discounts in the museum's store and cafe, among other benefits.
Es Baluard received during 2012 and to date a total of 383,543 visitors, 15% more than during 2011, when the museum was visited by 334,506 people. This milestone reinforces the success of the Es Baluard's exhibitions but also other activities organized or hosted by the museum, such as those educational (such as school and groups with special needs tours, seminars or family workshops), cultural activities (concerts and other performances, workshops, lectures, film screenings, etc.), and all those events scheduled within the museum and that complete the multidisciplinary function of Es Baluard.
