ES BALUARD WILL HOST MARE MOSTRA, THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL OCEAN AND FILM FESTIVAL

Es Baluard will host from May 8 to 12"Mare Mostra, Ocean International Film Festival". The event's been presented this morning at a press conference which was attended (picture): Dora Sanchez, Es Baluard's coordinator of Cultural Action; Álvaro Iglesias, co-founder of Sol Visuals; Germán Traver, president of the Audiovisual Cluster of the Balearic Islands; and Àngel Puig, managing director of IDimar, all of them organizers of the event along with the Mallorca Film Commission.  

Mare Mostra is an initiative that aims to bring together and disseminate cinema and sea. The festival starts from the great importance of popular science connected to the study of marine world, oceans and the spreading of all kind of fiction and documentaries focused on the sea.  

Mare Mostra will provide the Balearics an unprecedented cultural event that will help the understanding and conservation of the marine world and encourage the production and audiovisual market in the Islands.  

The sections of the festival are: Ocean and Science, Activism and Sea, Sea and Sport, Sea and Commercial Film, Sea and Gastronomy and MareMonstruo, a section which will take place at the Es Baluard's exterior featuring horror films with DJ sessions and bar service.  

The tickets for all the Mare Mostra sessions are free.
